Why buy through Yamato

  • 01

    Checked before you pay

Our team in Japan contacts the seller to confirm the vehicle is still available and matches the listing before we prepare your quotation.

  • 02

    One point of contact

From the first message to arrival, you deal with Yamato Cars rather than several separate agents in Japan.

  • 03

Payment only to our official invoice

You pay only to the account on your official Yamato proforma invoice, and we confirm in writing when the vehicle is secured.

  • 04

    Local support in Kenya

Talk to our Kenya team by phone or WhatsApp during local business hours.

Buying

Find a vehicle on GOONET Exchange, or tell us the make, model, year and budget you have in mind. Send us the listing link or your requirements together with your destination port, and we will check availability with the seller and prepare a quotation.

A quotation or proforma invoice alone does not mean the vehicle has been secured. We confirm in writing when the vehicle has actually been secured after payment.

Shipping

Vehicles are shipped from Japan to the Port of Mombasa. From Mombasa, vehicles can be cleared at the port or moved onward to an inland depot such as Nairobi, depending on what is agreed in your quotation.

Shipping times vary with vessel schedules and port conditions, so we do not guarantee arrival dates. We share the expected schedule once the vehicle is booked.

Inspection & import rules

Import rules for Kenya — such as vehicle age limits, pre-shipment inspection and duties — are set by the authorities in Kenya and can change. Yamato Cars confirms the requirements that apply to your vehicle when we prepare your quotation.
